To me, wedding photography is like documenting a love story written in real-time. It’s not about perfection. It’s about all the tiny, messy moments that tell the truth of the day. Like… the way the bride’s hands shake when she’s holding her bouquet. Or the way a dad pulls his daughter into a hug that’s half-proud and half-reluctant to let her go.
You know, people think weddings are all about these big, high energy moments—the kiss, the first dance—but it’s not. It’s the quiet things. The in-betweens. The groom whispering something ridiculous to his best man during the ceremony. A flower girl who’s just completely over it and is lying flat on the floor during the reception.
I don’t want to capture what the day looks like. I want to capture what it feels like. Because when you look back at these photos in ten, twenty, fifty years, you’re not going to care about whether your hair was perfect. You’re going to care about how deeply you loved and how much you were loved in return. It’s moments like that. They’re not just snapshots—they’re artifacts. They’re proof that we were here, that we loved, that we mattered.
Weddings are chaotic. They’re messy and beautiful and never go exactly as planned. That’s the magic. My job isn’t to control it—it’s to step into the chaos and find the beauty in it.
When I shoot a wedding, I’m thinking about the legacy. About the people who aren’t even born yet who are going to see this photo and say, “This was my mom. She was so happy.” Or, “This was my dad before I even existed.
At the end of the day, wedding photography isn’t just about the couple. It’s about everyone they’ve ever loved, everyone who loves them. It’s about capturing the proof that we’re here, that we’re connected, and that for one day, we all got to be part of something extraordinary.
